Centrifugal Isotropic Finishing for Firearm Manufacturers

Centrifugal Isotropic Finishing for Firearm Manufacturers

Since the discovery of gunpowder, people have been designing and building all makes and models of firearms. What started out as a simple means of igniting the powder to propel the projectile through the barrel has evolved into a set of high precision set of manufactured firearm components. The improved fit and finish has allowed for the increased reliability and performance of today’s precision firearm components and overall finished product. High-Speed Dry Spindle Deburring and Finishing of Complex Part Shapes

Turbo-Abrasive Machining (also referred to as Turbo-Finish) is a mechanical deburring and finishing method originally developed to automate edge finishing procedures on complex rotationally oriented and symmetrical aerospace engine components. Since its inception this method of utilizing fluidized abrasive materials has facilitated significant reductions in the amount of manual intervention required to deburr large components. Developments in Mass Finishing Technology

Developments in Mass Finishing Technology

Mass Finishing is a term used to describe a group of industrial processes by which large lots of manufactured parts can be processed in bulk economically to achieve a variety of surface effects. These economical processes, in contrast with hand deburring methods, develop these effects with a high degree of part-to-part and lot-to-lot uniformity and consistency. These effects might include edge break, edge contour, surface smoothing and improvement, tool mark blending, burnishing, polishing, super-finishing and micro finishing.
